Natural Sources of Vitamins Part II

To follow up from last post, we were discussing natural sources of vitamins.The next three essential vitamins are Vitamin D, E and K. Below is a chart explaining the function in the body and the best plant sources for each. It is amazing that simple vegetables and fruits such as these are full of the nutrients our bodies need!

Vitamin E

•A dietary antioxidant                               •protects the fat in body tissues from oxidizing                                               •protects skin from ultraviolet light




Vitamin K

Spinach, Brussel sprouts, Swiss chard, green beans, asparagus, broccoli, kale, mustard greens, green peas, carrots

•helps prevent your bones from fracture •helps prevent calcification of arteries    •allows blood to clot normally
